Under this law, the citizens of the state have the right to get transparent , dynamic and time-bound services . To ensure strict implementation of these laws, the Maharashtra Right to Public Services Commission was established . Maharashtra State Commission for Right to Service
The Maharashtra Right to Public Service Act, 2015 is a revolutionary law. This Act provides that the citizens shall be provided with services by the State Government in a transparent, efficient and time-bound manner. To ensure effective implementation of this Act, the Maharashtra State Commission has been empowered to provide services. The State Chief Commissioner is the Head of this Commission and the Authority for Service is the Chief Commissioner. Swadhin Kshatriya, was earlier the Chief Secretary of Maharashtra.
Citizens can get all the information about the services available under this Act by accessing the mobile application RTS Maharashtra or the ‘Aaple Sarkar’ web portal. Citizens can also apply online to avail these services. In case of delay in providing or denial of services without sufficient justification, citizens can file a first appeal and a second appeal with the senior officers in their department and a third and final appeal can be filed before this Commission.
