Head of Office :– Executive Engineer
Scope of Work :– Nandurbar District and all its rural areas Construction of Roads,Bridge Buildings.
Objective of work :- Construction of new roads,small bridges,various types of buildings. Maintenance and repair of roads, bridges, buildings. Construction of new classrooms, school repairs, construction, laying of paver blocks, concreting of road, construction of social hall, etc. To carry out development works of rural areas.
* Introduction *
1. Under construction department 1) Nandurbar 2)Akkalkuwa 3)Shahada 4)Navapur 5)Taloda consists Five talukas and the headquarters is at Nandurbar.
2. The construction and maintenance works of roads and buildings under the jurisdiction of the Zilla Parishad are done through the construction department. At the same
time, the construction of the building of the department and the repair of the existing building etc. will be made available with the administrative approval from
other departments under the G.P. Works are done. For this, a construction sub-division is functioning in each taluk.
3. The control and technical advice and implementation of works regarding buildings and construction in the Zilla Parishad is under the control of the Executive
Engineer, Construction Department.
4. The Executive Engineer is the head of the Construction Department and under him is a Sub Divisional Engineer in each Taluka. They are appointed by the Public Works
Department of Govt. Sub divisional office at taluka level is the lowest office. The construction of various schemes carried out through Zilla Parishad Construction is
actually implemented and all the basic information about this can be available at this level.
5. The administrative control over the construction department of the Zilla Parishad lies with the Village Development Department.
6. Funds for the road/building improvement works affected by mineral works in the district are received from the Maharashtra Mineral Works Development Fund by the
Government to the Zilla Parishad.
7. Funds for intra-village roads and development works in rural areas are provided to the Zilla Parishad through the Finance Commission.
8. Integrated Adivasi Vikas Project Separate funds for roads and buildings in tribal areas under tribal implementation from the department are available and Zilla
Parishad as an implementing mechanism Work is done through construction.
* Functions and Duties of Construction Department of Zilla Parishad *
1. To carry out maintenance and repair of existing buildings under the jurisdiction of Zilla Parishad Construction Department of buildings owned by G.P. and transferred
from Government.
2. Zilla Parishad Construction Department has other district roads and rural roads for maintenance and repair. For the maintenance and repair of these roads, funds are
received through the government’s planning department and rural development department.
3. From other departments of Zilla Parishad viz. 1) Health Department 2) Animal Husbandry Department 3) Social Welfare 4) Gram Panchayat Department 5) Agriculture
Department 6) Education Department and 7) Women and Child Welfare Department etc. From the funds available to the department, new buildings, graveyards, anganwadis,
primary health centers, G.P. school constructions and repairs of existing buildings approved by the concerned department and transferred to the concerned department
as soon as the work is completed are done on priority.
*The following types of works are mainly done through the Construction Department of the District Council*
1) Construction of new roads, small bridges, various types of buildings from the funds available from the district planning and government level.
2) Maintenance and repair of existing roads, bridges, bridge buildings under Zilla Parishad Construction Department .
3) To carry out rehabilitation works in the event of natural calamities like heavy rains.
4) Reservation of Zilla Parishad rest house.
5) To scrutinize the constructions of private organizations , C structures, petrol pumps etc.and issue “No Necessary Permission” certificate to them.
6) To ensure that there is no encroachment on the side of the road and buildings under the jurisdiction of Zilla Parishad.
* Section Goal *
1) Construction of new roads , small bridges, various types of buildings from the funds available to the District Parishad .
2) To maintain and repair the existing roads, bridges, bridge buildings under the G.P. Construction Department.
3) To carry out rehabilitation works in the event of natural calamities like heavy rains.
4) Reservation of Zilla Parishad rest house.
5) Scrutinizing the construction of private institutions, factories, petrol pumps etc. along the Zilla Parishad road and giving them “no permission”.
6) To ensure that there is no encroachment on the roads and buildings of G.P.
7) To look after the entire establishment work, service matters, salary and allowances of Class-1, Class-2 , above Class-3 and Class-4 officers and employees through
