Panchayat Samiti

On July 1, 1998, Dhule district was divided and Nandurbar district was newly formed. The district headquarters is Nandurbar. Along with the formation of Nandurbar district, Nandurbar Zilla Parishad came into existence. Six Panchayat Samiti are functioning at the tehsil headquarters under the Zilla Parishad, according to the six tehsils of the district, Akkalkuwa, Akrani, Taloda, Shahada, Nandurbar and Navapur. Nandurbar Zilla Parishad mainly covers tribal dominated rural areas. Under the auspices of Rural Development Department – Maharashtra State, the work of uplifting the lives of the people in rural areas and providing health and basic facilities is being continuously carried out in collaboration with the people’s representatives.
