    Animal Husbandry Department

    Introduction
    Looking at the historical background, the first veterinary hospital in the state was operationalized on 1st April 1892 at Dhule and Nashik. India is an agricultural country and there is a department of animal husbandry related to the agricultural sector in India.Therefore, the Animal Husbandry Department has a special importance. Animal husbandry/dairy business is becoming a major business rather than a secondary business and the work of animal husbandry is being done through this department. Farmers of the 21st CenturyConsidering the challenges faced by livestock farmers and dairy farmers, the department is expected to move towards entrepreneurship. In addition, to increase livestock production, low-producing cows/buffaloes from livestock farmers will be givenConsidering the challenges faced by livestock farmers and dairy farmers, the department is expected to move towards entrepreneurship.Apart from this, to increase livestock production, artificial insemination of low-producing cows/buffaloes of livestock farmers is done to increase milk production and to improve the economic condition of livestock farmers by creating hybrid breeds.To save the lives of valuable animals by providing timely treatment to sick livestock, as well as to provide preventive vaccination against various diseases, and to provide training to farmers/livestock keepers on animal husbandry in technically cost-effective animal husbandry.Additionally, the main objective and goal of the Animal Husbandry Department is to increase national wealth.

    1 Providing health services to livestock through improved animal husbandry technologies.
    2. To prepare livestock farmers to become livestock entrepreneurs.
    3. Ensuring economic and nutritional development in the district.

    Mission
    To double the income of livestock farmers.And to provide good quality animal protein.To create a sustainable source of economic income by creating self-employment and employment in rural areas through various schemes of the Animal Husbandry Department.To develop entrepreneurship through the centrally sponsored National Livestock Mission.

    Objectives and Functions
    1. The main function of the Animal Husbandry Department, Zilla Parishad, Nandurbar is to provide technical services related to animal husbandry to the livestock farmers of the district.
    2. To provide supplementary income and self-employment to rural farmers and needy beneficiaries by implementing individual benefit schemes such as distribution of milch animals and goat groups through veterinary clinics under the Animal Husbandry Department.

    7. Availability of vaccines required for livestock and vaccination.
    8. Providing information on animal husbandry schemes to livestock farmers under publicity and promotion programs.
