    Zilla Parishads serve as important pillars of local administration, playing a vital role in the development and welfare of rural areas. These administrative bodies are entrusted with several key functions including planning and implementation of socio-economic programmes, management of local resources, provision of essential services and promotion of rural development. Through their various responsibilities, Zilla Parishads work towards improving the quality of life and empowering the communities in the districts they govern.

    The functions of Zilla Parishads are as follows.
