District Water and Sanitation Department

Introduction
Project Director (District Water and Sanitation Mission) is the head of this department. Personal toilet construction, public toilet construction, Solid and Liquid waste management, Gobardhan, Faecal Sludge management, plastic waste management and training and public awareness activities on various topics related to sanitation are implemented through this department.
Vision& Mission
1. The important schemes of Central Government namely Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) and Jal Jeevan
Mission are implemented at the village level through District Water and Sanitation Mission department.
2. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), a centrally sponsored scheme, Rs.12, 000/- per person toilet
incentive subsidy is given to the eligible beneficiaries through this department. Also, public toilet
construction and solid waste and liquid waste management projects are implemented at the village level.
3. Jal Jeevan Mission, a centrally sponsored scheme, provides individual pipe connections to families
without individual pipe connections.
4. Trainings on various topics related to sanitation and public awareness activities are implemented through
