    Preface

    According to the 73rd Constitutional Amendment, the Gram Panchayats have been granted constitutional status. In order to raise the standard of living of the people in the rural areas and for its economic and social progress, various schemes are implemented by the Central and State Governments through the Gram Panchayat Division Zilla Parishad. Nandurbar district has a total of 639 Gram Panchayats out of which 566 are in the pesa area and 73 are in the non-pesa area. The total revenue villages are 946 out of which 859 are in the pesa area and 87 are in the non-pesa area. 139 villages in pesa zone are declared as villages and there are 06 panchayat samiti total population of the district is 639 gram panchayats out of which 566 are gram panchayat in pesa area and 73 are gram panchayat in non pesa area there are total 06 panchayat samiti. The geographical area of the districts is 5955 sq km. According to the census of 2011, the total population is 16,48,295 out of which 2,75,474 are urban and 13,72,821 are rural. Caste 47,985 and Rs. The tribe is 11,41,933.

    GOAL:-
    Achieving all inclusive and sustainable rural development through a strong Panchayat Raj system.

    WORK VISION
    1. Empowerment of Panchayat Raj Institutions,
    2. Strengthening of Panchayat Raj institutions for planning, implementation management and control
    3. Coordination of programs and activities of other government departments, semi-governmental organizations, NGOs.
    4. Collective decision making, social audit by Gram sabha for grievance redressal

    PURPOSE:-
    1. Strengthening of Panchayat Raj system through training of public representatives. Zilha Parishad Members, Panchayat Samiti Member, Sarpach & Gram Panchayat Member, total of 2517 people’s representatives were trained.
    2. To provide basic amenities in the village
    3. To provide basic tools and facilities for the pilgrimage area
    4. Effective implementation of Gram Sabha.
    5. Eradication of poverty through effective implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National
    6. Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
